December 1st, on the second anniversary of TCCS restarting its initiative for charity performances within retirement homes in the wake of the pandemic, TCCS volunteers put on a fabulous show, with songs, dance, music, and performances of Chinese Kungfu, bringing the festivity of the Christmas holidays to the residents.
Exciting Performances:
The performance included a diverse range of programmes, from traditional Christmas songs, classical piano and violin pieces, to Chinese cultural folk tunes, dances, and elegant ballet. As a wrap, the volunteer together with the elders sang We Wish you a Merry Christmas, bringing the event to a climatic close with the joyous applause and smiles from the elders.
Hardworking Volunteers:
In order to put on the best performance, TCCS volunteers perfected their crafts despite the cold weather and a tight rehearsal schedule. Their heartfelt expression received the praise and applause from the audience, lighting up the atmosphere with holiday festivity.
A Monumental Two Years:
This event marked two years since TCCS was once again able to bring back regular charity performances in community retirement homes after the hiatus during the pandemic. The tireless work undertaken by TCCS volunteers in the two years are a reflection of their dedication to helping those in need within the community. Through their positivity, songs, and art, the volunteers are knitting the community together through their actions.
Shared Songs and Happiness:
At last, as the volunteers and the elders came together in singing the chorus to the familiar tune, the performance came to a fulfilling conclusion. Many of the residents expressed their appreciation by exchanging holiday wishes and voicing their anticipation for the year and performances to come.
The Tri-Cities Chinese Society will continue to carry out its founding commitment of serving the community, and to spread love and warmth through arts and songs.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have devoted their time and effort to support our initiatives. We wish everyone a happy holiday and prosperity in the new year!
