Autumn breeze brings coolness, full moon brings people together. Recently, the Gao Gui Lin History Museum held a warm and traditional cultural Mid Autumn Festival celebration, attracting many community residents to participate. The exciting Chinese lion dance, diverse cultural performances, delicious mooncakes, and fun traditional games allow everyone to experience the reunion and warmth of the Mid Autumn Festival together in a joyful atmosphere.
The event venue was filled with a strong festive atmosphere. The Chinese lion dance performance is full of vitality. With the sound of gongs and drums, lion dances shuttle through the crowd, adding a festive and peaceful atmosphere to the festival. The wonderful cultural performances also bring a cultural feast to the audience, where everyone can experience the charm of different cultural arts through music, dance and other programs.
In addition to exciting stage performances, traditional festival delicacies such as mooncakes were also prepared on site. Everyone tastes mooncakes while chatting and exchanging ideas, enjoying this rare community reunion time in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
The Tri-City Chinese Communities (TCCS) also actively participated in this event and specially set up a traditional Chinese game – pitching pot.
Throwing pots is a fun activity in traditional Chinese etiquette culture, and has now become an interesting way to connect people of different ages and cultural backgrounds. At the event site, TCCS’s pitching game attracted many residents to participate, especially welcomed by children and families. Everyone was eager to try and experience the fun of traditional games through repeated throwing, with constant laughter and a lively atmosphere on site.
Through the simple and fun traditional game of pitching pots, TCCS also hopes to enable more community residents, especially the younger generation, to come into contact with and understand traditional Chinese culture, and experience the charm of Chinese culture through easy interaction.

Mid-Autumn Festival is not only an important traditional festival of the Chinese nation, but also a festival symbolizing reunion, sharing and blessing. Nowadays, in multicultural Canada, residents from different cultural backgrounds gather together through such activities to share food, art, and joy, giving new meaning to traditional festivals.

Celebrating Mid-Autumn TogetherA Warm and Joyful Celebration at the Coquitlam Heritage Society
As autumn arrives and the full moon brings people together, the Coquitlam Heritage Society recently hosted a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration filled with culture, friendship, and community spirit.
The event brought together community members of all ages to enjoy a lively Chinese lion dance, a variety of cultural performances, delicious mooncakes, and fun traditional games. The festive atmosphere created a wonderful opportunity for everyone to experience the warmth and joy of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Chinese lion dance was one of the highlights of the celebration. Accompanied by the energetic sounds of drums and gongs, the lions brought excitement and festive energy to the event. Guests also enjoyed a variety of music, dance, and cultural performances, creating a vibrant afternoon of entertainment and cultural sharing.
Of course, no Mid-Autumn celebration would be complete without mooncakes. Community members enjoyed sharing this traditional treat while spending time together, chatting and celebrating the holiday.
Tri-City Chinese Community Society (TCCS) was also delighted to take part in the celebration and brought a traditional Chinese game, Pitch-Pot (投壶), to the community.

Pitch-Pot is a traditional Chinese game with a long history. Simple, fun, and suitable for people of different ages, it quickly became one of the most popular activities at the event.
Children, families, and adults eagerly took turns trying their skills at Pitch-Pot. Laughter and cheers could be heard throughout the activity area as participants challenged themselves and enjoyed this unique traditional game.
Through activities like Pitch-Pot, TCCS hopes to introduce more members of the community—especially younger generations—to Chinese traditions and culture in a fun and welcoming way.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is not only an important traditional Chinese celebration, but also a time to share, connect, and celebrate together. In Canada’s diverse communities, events like this provide a wonderful opportunity for people from different cultural backgrounds to come together, enjoy one another’s traditions, and build stronger community connections.
